Some Things That Defined MLK

  • A nineteen-year old scholar with a magnificent prose, Martin had graduated from Morehouse College in Atlanta with a BA degree in Sociology.  He later graduated from the Crozer Theological Seminary with a BA of Divinity, so he could pursue his pastor-ship and eventually preached at Dexter Avenue Baptist Church. He also went as far as graduating from the Boston University with a Ph.D. in Systematic Theology in 1955.
  • Dr. King strongly agrees to Gandhi's philosophy of nonviolence.
  • The “I Have a Dream” speech, Nobel Peace Prize lecture and “Letter from a Birmingham Jail” have become notable legacies of Dr. King.
  • Awarded the Nobel Peace Prize at the age of thirty-five,  Dr. King was known to be the youngest man to have received it.
  • Due to charging towards economic peace, Dr. King had opposed the administration's policy in Vietnam to which the President grew to dislike Dr. King's motives.
